He Knows How To Give Me Two-Fisted Love

In consideration of the commendable craft of her songwriting, blending jazz, blues & folk & the phenomenal vocal instrument of Phoebe Snow, who left us last week, I devoted some time listening to her catalogue. Despite her success in the 1970s, I wasn't really a fan & never purchased her albums, but hearing her songs on the radio always made me feel good. The exception was her duet with Paul Simon on the hit single Gone At Last, which I was crazy about.

Yesterday, I stumbled upon this ditty & it brought out my puerile personality in force:

My baby's out there with his lantern
Searching for an honest man
Oh, it's crisis time
Stuck in the suburbs,
Dying on the vine
He knows how to give me gifts from above
He knows how to give me two-fisted love
Two-fisted love, two-fisted love...
Two-fisted love
