Impossible Situations Can Become Possible Miracles

The very swank Driftwood Room, my favorite spot in Portland.

Last Saturday, while I enjoyed the imbibing of happy hour whiskey at the swank Driftwood Room in Portland, I mentioned to my group of friends (the usual cast of characters:WCK3, Special K & Little Jake, The Husband, SS & her hot new BF), that I had an inkling that they were not keeping up with reading my posts. My Friend SS (beautiful & heterosexual) replied with: “I like it when you do stories about you & your life. I don’t really care to read about famous dead gay people.”

In January 2008, when I made the decision to have to have blog, I challenged myself to do a post every day. On occasion, I have missed, feeling as if I am out of stories, & I don’t really want to post about those pesky dead gay people unless there is a direct relationship to me. I really need to be interested in or admire the figures in my Born On This Day posts, but Gay History is a subject that I am passionate about.

I have reason to believe that because I am powerfully vocal with my opinion that the biggest obstacle we have in moving forward as humans on this planet, is unbending religious fundamentalism. The downside of voicing my concerns is it is assumed that I am an atheist. Nothing could be farther from God's Truth. I am surprisingly & substantially spiritual. If you need to have a label, I consider myself: Christian, Taoist, Hindu, Pagan, Muslim, Buddhist, Nudist, Jew. I know this seems contradictory, but like the Fundamentalists, I pick & choose my scriptures by what best supports my situation: Christ's love for the poor & marginalized, Hindu's embrace of the feminine as a symbol for birth & death, Muslims' call to prayer, the Jewish sense of holding tradition, Pagan's closeness to nature, Taoist simplicity, Buddhist rejection of accumulation. All this from a Hedonist!

I could never bring myself to pray for a consumer object, especially pleading with God for electronics, even when I have some certainty the She loves Google maps.

The old laptop died & I missed reading blogs & posting on my own (not to mention Facebook & porn). We have nothing approaching extra money in our lives, only a miracle would do if I were to have a new have a new laptop, & the miracle happens. It seems in my very fortunate life that this has been true. I don't need to give the details, but just the right amount of money dropped into my life, just a few days after the old computer went to a better place. It is possible that the cash had something to do with a midget, some white powder, a French Maid outfit, a slip & slide & camera & scores settled... but I am nothing if discreet.

I am now going to catch up on reading the 50+ blogs that I follow, & posting for the days that I missed. I plan to cheat & post date then to the day that post was supposed to go up.

I have a bit of a crush on the new laptop. I find it to be sexy.

One of the very few things that I enjoy about this time of the year is end of the year wrap-ups. I know one of my favorite things about 2010 is being part of & communicating with readers & writers in the blogging community. Thank you for looking at Post Apocalyptic Bohemian & thanks for the comments. I hope in 2011, if you are in need of a miracle, you will have one plop into your lap.
